Collections are useful because they separate content management from page design.

The practical value is consistency and scale. Instead of designing a new page from nothing every time content is added, the website can use one dynamic page template and display different collection items through that template. For example, a glossary collection can hold one item for each term. The live page template can then show the correct definition, image, FAQs and SEO fields automatically. This makes the website easier to expand and reduces the risk of every page looking different for no clear reason.

Good collections need careful planning before content is added.
