SEO, which means Search Engine Optimisation, is the process of improving a website so that search engines such as Google can understand it, index it and show it to people who are searching for relevant information, products or services. In simple words, SEO helps a website become more visible online.

When someone types a question or keyword into Google, the search engine looks through many websites and decides which pages are the most useful, relevant and trustworthy. SEO helps your website give Google the right signals, so it has a better chance of appearing higher in search results.


SEO is important because a website can look beautiful, but if it is not optimised, people may not find it. A business website needs more than design. It needs clear text, correct headings, useful keywords, good page titles, meta descriptions, image descriptions, internal links and a structure that is easy for both visitors and search engines to follow.
